1st European Contest of Educational
|
|
|
This contest, after the UNESCO
declaration of the year 2000 as the
World Mathematical Year, has been organised to raise Maths teaching standards and to disseminate materials designed by teachers using the potential of Information and Communication Technology. The contest, announced and coordinated by the Department of Mathematics of the Virtual School of the European Schoolnet (EUN), has the support of the Education Department of the Generalitat de Catalunya (Catalan Autonomous Government), through PIE
(Programa d'Informātica Educativa - ICT in Education Programme), and of
Sun Microsystems.
It is addressed to European teachers, students and any European Academic institution working on the application of ICT in the teaching of Maths to foster creativity as well as the production and availability of meaningful teaching and learning materials on the Internet.

Jury
The jury of the MATHPLETS'2000 contest, constituted on June 20 of 2000, was composed of the following members:

Santiago Manrique, representative of Catalonia/Spain in the Virtual School working group, acted as Jury Secretary.

The Jury wishes to congratulate all the participants for. In spite of the quality of all the work produced by the participants, only three MATHPLETS have been awarded following the contest rules. |
